The Mayor of the City of Columbus, Ohio in the United States of America has praised Ghana’s leading waste management firm, Zoomlion Company Limited for its tremendous efforts at promoting sanitation in the country and the sub-region.
Mayor Andrew Ginther disclosed this at the headquarters of the Jospong/Zoomlion Group of Companies on Tuesday in Accra when he led a delegation from Columbus to tour some subsidiaries of Zoomlion, namely Dredging Masters (DM) and the Mudor Faecal Treatment Plant at Lavender Hills.
“We were really impressed with what we saw today,” he said.
The delegation’s visit to the Jospong/Zoomlion Group of Companies formed part of efforts to boost the sister-city relationship between Accra and Columbus.
According to Mayor Ginther, the Zoomlion Company, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, must continue to do great works in the area of waste management in Ghana and other countries on the African continent.

As a result, he said, the City of Columbus and other states in the USA are open for collaboration with the Jospong/Zoomlion Group of Companies.
He described the relationship between Accra and Columbus as an “exciting one which continues to grow.”
The sister-city relationship between Accra and Columbus was signed in November 2015.
Ex-mayor of Columbus, Michael B. Coleman, who was equally impressed with the operations of the Jospong/Zoomlion Group of Companies, appealed to Zoomlion to establish its footprint in the USA.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, on his part, told the guests that his outfit could collaborate with the city to establish a research centre in the US which will be devoted primarily to the sanitation sub-sector in Ghana and the sub-region.
He called on foreign investors to make Ghana the hub for managing waste in West Africa.
