Mr John Nyaaba, Assemblyman for the Nyariga electoral area, has been elected the Presiding Member of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly.
He polled 40 votes representing 67 per cent to beat his opponents Mr Donatus Nyaaba and Madam Agnes Atayila who obtained 28 and 21 votes respectively.
In another development, Mr James Konzabre, a 34-year-old tutor of the St. John Bosco"s Training College of Education has been elected as the PM for the Talensi-Nabdam District.
He polled 30 votes as against his opponents, Mr Leonard Anafo and Alhaji Mohammed B. Seidu who got nine votes each.
The two Assemblies failed to elect their PMs during the inauguration of Assemblies in March.
Addressing the Assemblies the Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Mark Woyongo, appealed to the members to bury their differences and work in unity for the development of the Assemblies.
