A popular businessman at Osei-Kwame near Odorkor is reported to have shot himself dead on Tuesday afternoon in his house.
It is not clear why Daniel Boadu, about 55, shot himself in the head.
His son Daniel Owusu told Myjoyonline.com “Nobody knows what was wrong with him”.
Sounding very devastated by the incident, Owusu said he was asleep in his room when he heard a gunshot only to wake up to find the father in a pool of blood with a “condemned head”.
The Odorkor Police, he said, have visited the scene and taken the body to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
An eyewitness who spoke to Myjoyonline.com on phone described Mr Boadu as a “wealthy man” who was well known in the area.
Myjoyonline.com was not able to reach the Odorkor police for confirmation at the time of filing this report.
