The Accra Regional Office of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service is investigating the Founder of Endtime Ministries International Reverend Owusu Bempah, for allegedly fathering a baby with his 19-year-old house help.
The victim, who is a University student, claims Rev. Owusu Bempah has refused to accept responsibility.
Narrating the story to Asempa News’ Kwaku Antwi-Otoo in Accra today, Public Relations Officer, Inspector Irene Oppong confirmed the case had been reported at DOVVSU and that investigations were ongoing.
Inspector Oppong explained that the victim was also seeing a junior pastor of the same church simultaneously.
She added that in the course of the affair between the young lady, Rev. Owusu Bempah and the junior pastor, the pregnancy emerged.
Inspector Oppong however said the junior pastor took care of the pregnancy until the 19-year-old student delivered.
After the delivery, according the DOVVSU PRO, the baby had features similar to those of Rev. Owusu Bempah which got the lady convinced that he was the father of the baby and informed him duly.
Rev. Bempah allegedly became adamant about the issue, which compelled the lady to report him to DOVVSU for a DNA test.
The matter is still under investigation.
