A group supporting former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, to lead the NDC in the 2012 elections is warning that the party will split if President Mills wins the presidential primary due next month in Sunyani.
The group, Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR) accused the Mills campaign team of employing unfair tactics and peddling falsehood about its activities.
Spokesperson for the group, Dela Cofie, told Joy News they are disappointed some key executives of the party are involved in the act.
Mr Cofie said some executives are preventing delegates from associating themselves with the former first lady’s campaign whiles some delegates are being camped at secluded places to prevent any contact with FONKAR.
He accused party officials such as Yaw Boateng Gyan of "doing anything to keep President Mills in power" even though many party members want to see a change in leadership.
But the campaign team of President Mills has denied the allegations.
Barbara Asamoah, spokesperson of Get Atta Mills Endorsed (GAME) group, said the party delegates “are not people that you can just ride over. These are the same people that we are also asking to vote for us.”
