President Mills’ leadership quality has once again been questioned by the NPP with the Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament, Ambrose Dery slamming his Ministers for “paralyzing” him and his administration.
The Deputy Minority Leader who was speaking on Multi TV’s current affairs program – Caucus, was appalled by the current challenges facing the NDC party and its effect on the citizenry.
He argued that governance under the President’s leadership is in crisis with “the GAME, OLONKAR, FONKAR, etc, are not allowing the Presidency to concentrate on solving the nation’s problems”.
Mr. Dery said the President was not in control of his Ministers, explaining that “for the first time in 54 years, the Speaker of Parliament had to walk out of Parliament because of the behavior of the leaders of the Majority in Parliament.
"And if you come to the Judiciary, there are threats of intimidation…and with a party that has a history of judicial assassinations, such statements are disturbing.”
He contended that the NPP’s presidential candidate Nana Addo remains the strongest alternative that can steer the affairs of the country with proven leadership qualities.
Mr Dery said the NPP’s flagbearer believes in and is committed to building strong institutions such as “Parliament, CHRAJ, the Judiciary, etc and provide them the necessary resources to function properly when voted into power in 2012”.
