Some youth in Changli, a suburb of the Tamale have vowed to kill one Ibrahim who is currently on the run to avenge the death of their friend Anas Zeburu.
Anas Zuberu, 18, was Thursday stabbed to death by one Abubakari, who is believed to be a friend of Ibrahim.
The Angry youth, claiming to be friends of the deceased are currently searching for Ibrahim whom they accuse of abetting the crime.
The youth, numbering about thirty in a charged mood vowed to kill Ibrahim wherever they find him unless the police arrest and put him before court.
According to them, it was Ibrahim who led the alleged murderer Abubakari to the scene where the incident took place.
Abubakari allegedly stabbed Anas several times in the abdomen and tried to abscond to Kumasi but was arrested and handed over to the police.
The angry youth seized a brother of Ibrahim’s and would have vented their spleen on him but for the intervention of family members.
Asked why they were seeking to take the law into their own hands, they said had lost confidence in the police.
An uncle of the victim, Fuseini Zimblim said the family will not be part of any violence or lawlessness and urged the police to give his nephew justice. “We want the law to take its cause, all we want is justice for Anas”.
He urged the angry youth to exercise patience and allow the police to do their work.
Meanwhile, the victim Anas Zeberu is yet to be buried pending an autopsy.
The police in Tamale say they are investigating the case.
