A Tuberculosis specialist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has redesigned the LUDO game to promote education on the tuberculosis disease.
Chairman of the World Health Organisation Taskforce for child TB in Africa Dr. Anthony Enimil the originator of the TB Ludo game tells Luv FM it embeds the basic understanding of the disease and its prevention.
Available statistics from the National TB Program indicate that averagely 27 people die of the TB disease daily.
More innovative ideas are therefore important, according to officials to match efforts to mitigate its spread and save lives.
But TB disease is highly stigmatised in Ghana.

According to Dr. Enimil, the innovation is to help the youth learn about facts on Tuberculosis whilst having fun.
“There is a lot misconception in the community about TB but once there is a game that is mentioning the conditions it helps you to learn and identify people with the conditions and know how it is managed. The essence of the game is having fun and at the same time learning”, Dr Enimil has said.
Some selected schools in Kumasi engaged in the TB game competition as part of events to celebrate World TB Day and create awareness of the disease.
Four schools took part in the first edition of the TB education game competition.
Playing the game, at every win of a toss, the winner must explain either the causes, and/or preventive measures of the disease.
TI Ahmadiya Senior High School came top against Yaa Asantewaa Girls, St. Louis and Kumasi Anglican Senior high School.
Dr. Enimil is positive the initiative will be scaled up to enable students protect themselves against Tuberculosis.
This move is expected to contribute towards World Health Organization’s united to end tuberculosis and get rid of TB throughout the world by 2030.
