A Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana Dr. Kwesi Jonah has lauded the merger between the Convention People’s Party and People’s National Convention in the Northern Region. Regional executives from the two parties have resolved to field common candidates for the 2012 elections especially in the Parliamentary polls to improve their fortunes. Dr. Jonah who heads the political science department at Legon says the decision is a good idea. He however charged the leadership of the two parties to adopt the strategy since it was the only way to make an impact in the general elections. "The leadership should read the signs on the wall. That our followers are so much frustrated with our delays, with our excuses that if we don't move, they will move," Dr Jonah told Joy News. He accused the leaders of failing to conduct a through introspection of itself in order to situate the true position and predicament of the parties. Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
