Police have confirmed two people died in an accident at Taifa junction near Achimota Monday morning.
Witnesses, however, put the death toll at seven.
The accident involved a Metro Mass Transit bus and a 207 Benz bus causing heavy traffic on the Achimota-Ofankor road.
Joy News’ Francisca Forson who was at the scene of the accident reported seeing "car parts, oil, broken glasses.”
She reported that in one of the several footwear scattered around, there was a substance mixed with blood, which eyewitnesses said was the brain of one of the victims.
An eyewitness told Joy News, “I saw blood, and people were suffering, people were seriously injured. So we have to beg people to put some of the injured people into their vehicles.”
He recounted that the 207 bus, travelling from Pokuasi to Accra on top speed, had tried to overtake another car but ended up running into an oncoming Metro Mass Transit.
