Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has presented over two hundred packs of its new non-alcoholic beverage, Origin Zero, to the National Chief Imam, Sheik Nuhu Sharubutu.
The donation was to show appreciation for the Moslem cleric’s partnership and support to the brewery.
About two years ago the total beverage maker launched the alcoholic-base Orijin drink, however, in response to consumer request for a non-alcoholic base drink, the beverage company introduced Orijin Zero onto the market.

Orijin Zero is a non-alcoholic carbonated soft drink made with herbs, fruits, and honey.
“We recognise the fact that for several reasons maybe some consumers who for one reason or the other may not want to take in alcohol. Therefore, we sat back and we thought of what we need to do which led us to our current innovation, Orijin Zero,” said Marketing and Innovation Director for Guinness Ghana Limited, Kweku Sekyi-Cann.
He said one of the key things that drive the GGBL brand is innovation.
“We put a lot of focus on innovation because we are very clear in our mind that consumers have certain needs that we need to address and some of those needs go beyond our current portfolio. Therefore, we are always innovating to ensure that we can provide for the customer a brand that they can enjoy anytime anywhere,” he adds.
The Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheik Aremeyaw, thanked Guinness Ghana for their continuous support toward the betterment of the office of the National Chief Imam and his foundation.
