A 19-year old boy has been charged with defilement after he reportedly impregnated his 13-year old girlfriend in Tema.
Joseph Kakraba, a JHS leaver who is currently working as a motorbike mechanic is said to have been dating the girl for some time.
He is said to have ignored warnings by the girl’s father to break off the relationship.
Joseph was apprehended at the Tema Polyclinic, when he accompanied the victim for antenatal care.
Lance Corporal Mary Boakye, investigator at the Tema Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit, said the victim was underage and could not have lawful sexual relationship.
