The chairman of the planning committee of this year’s Ada Asafotufiami Festival, Nene Kabutey IV is urging indigenes of the Ada Traditional Area to come home for the celebrations.
He said the 2011 Asafotufiami festival, being organised by the traditional authorities in collaboration with Tema-based Adom FM, will be a grand event.
Nene Kabutey IV indicated that the festival is significant for the people of Ada because it serves as the platform for the people to unite with their families and also a time to plan developmental projects for the area.
This year’s celebration of the festival which commences on 4th August has been described as a special one because the traditional authorities have made special transportation arrangements for celebrants.
Nene Kabutey IV said this will reduce the usual transportation problems that have characterized the Asafotufiami festival in recent times. He disclosed that arrangements have also been made to secure accommodation for the visitors who will be coming for the festival.
The Chief has also assured that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure that lives and property are protected throughout the week-long celebration.
