Police in Kumasi have charged two suspects for allegedly stealing and being cruel to an animal.
Two suspects, Mobila and Edmund are alleged to have clubbed a dog, belonging to 28-year old, Beatrice Amangure and her family, to death and used it for meat
The Alsatian dog, named Rocky was bought for GH¢800 almost two years ago. Beatrice and her family adored the dog so much that they spent huge sums of money for its medical care and upkeep.
Inspector James Antoh, Station Officer in charge of the Ridge Police station in Kumasi, told Joy News although the suspect claimed the dog was ran-down by a vehicle, post-mortem reveals the dog was hit by an object.
Meanwhile, Beatrice, mother of four and her family are saddened by the death of the family's pet and would be observing, Rocky’s one-week funeral celebration.
