Joy 99.7FM has presented a container full of relief items to the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO, while financial institution, First Capital Plus has offered to sponsor the education and upkeep of eight-year old twins who for years had been locked up by their mother. The organization asked for public support as they ran out of relief items for flood victims in the Eastern and Volta regions. Joy FM embarked on a drive to solicit relief items from listeners. Thursday morning, Super Morning show host Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah presented the items to the deputy national coordinator of NADMO in charge of technical affairs, Ebenezer Dossu. Receiving the items the deputy coordinator was full of praise for Joy FM and its listeners for their contribution to ameliorate the suffering of flood victims. In the case of First Capital Plus company, the mother of the twins, Esi Kwansema was arrested but later released by the police. She claims her action was not borne out of evil but well intentioned to protect her children. Stefan Anto, Executive Manager for Corporate and Legal Affairs for First Capital Plus told Joy News his outfit will also fund the cost of a psychologist to care for the woman. His company has also offered to take care of the entire sponsorship sum for educating the children through JHS. The outfit is also promising to support the woman by providing her with some funds to start business. There will also be investment accounts set-up for the twins. Source: Joy News/Ghana
