A combined team of Police and Military personnel have arrested three persons in Buipe over the possession of substances believed to be Indian hemp.
This arrest was the second leg of a dawn swoop by the team to rid the area of criminals.
A similar operation in Tamale on Saturday resulted in the arrest of three people believed to be among a ring of robbers who terrorize passengers who travel between Tamale and Bolga.
Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Ebenezer Tetteh told Joy News the police, acting on information that a certain location in Buipe was being used for some criminal activities, carried out a swoop at the house and in the process arrested the three individuals.
He said the case is being investigated after which they will be charged with possessing narcotics without lawful authority and consequently put before court.
