Two people have reportedly been butchered in Bawku and are in critical condition.
The two according to police sources are farmers. It is unclear what led to the attack but Police say they have been informed the two were attacked by three persons while they were on their farms.
For now the area is said to be calm and police say they do not expect the security situation to deteriorate. They are on patrols though.
Confirming the incident to Joy News, the Bawku Municipal Police Commander, ACP Boadu Peprah said about three people are believed to have launched the attack on the victims.
He said the incident is not unrelated to the protracted ethnic dispute that has created a state of insecurity in Bawku for decades.
Thursday’s incident, happened around Saabongari, a suburb of Bawku.
