She is widely acknowledged as the first Ghanaian female to head a multinational telecommunications company, Airtel Ghana, but Lucy Quist, has many more stories to share.
Lucy’s background is one that comes in numerous and various shifts. She was born in London, spent some time in Nigeria and then to Ghana, where she acquired basic and secondary school education.
Being Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Ghana is not the dream destination for the international business leader and a technology professional.
In an interaction with Kojo Yankson on ‘The Movers’ series on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM, Lucy said what drives her most, is the desire to make a greater impact on society.
No wonder Airtel Ghana will go down in history as the first company in the country to have embarked on a major corporate social responsibility project – Airtel Touching Lives – which had a nationwide reach.
She strongly believes the philosophy of business organizations should not be to focus on competition. “Your focus should be your customer…and improve on the services that the customer expects from you”.
