Songstress, Wilhelmina Andani known in showbiz as Mimi has returned to Ghana after undergoing two crucial abdominal surgeries in Barcelona in Spain. The surgeries - Laparotomía Exploradora - were done to correct an abnormal menstrual cycle which has persisted for about four months without ceasing. Mimi left the country on September 23 for Spain, a few days after returning to Ghana from Namibia where she performed with Irish boy band, Westlife at the 2011 Windhoek Festival. She confirmed the surgeries in an interview with Myjoyonline.com Monday. She revealed that she had her first surgery on September 28 and the second surgery on October 3, both surgeries led by Dr. Rodrigo Medrano, at Hospital de la Santa Creu in Barcelona. Mimi returned to Ghana on October 11 after the surgeries. Speaking with some difficulty in her voice, Mimi said, “I am ok. I am going through recovery therapy at the Jubail Specialist Hospital in Sakumono.” The former Big Brother Africa 3 housemate assured that, “Everything is back to normal now, the blood is no longer flowing [everyday]... I am hoping maybe next month it will start flowing normally.” Widely known for her hit single Tattoo, Mimi, in spite of doctor’s advice to stay away from "heavy" activities for a month is determined not let her fans down at the maiden all female, Red Lipsticks, music concert scheduled for the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre on October 29. According to her, she has already signed and committed herself to the concert and does not want to disappoint her fans who are keen on seeing her perform on the night. The concert also has on the bill renowned female acts Efya, Eazzy, Sherifa Gunu, Ohemaa Mercy, Akosua Agyapong, Becca and host of others.
