While police are yet to establish the cause of the weekend’s road crash at Gomoa Dabenyin in the Central Region, residents blamed it on cattle falling off a moving truck.
Three of the severely injured persons from the accident are said to be in critical condition, battling for their lives.
According to residents, the truck transporting cattle headed for Takoradi in the Western Region, inappropriately parked in the middle of the road after some of the livestock fell off.
The oncoming passenger Benz bus rammed into it when the driver attempted to overtake it on the Kasoa-Cape Coast Highway on Saturday.
Officials at the Winneba Government Hospital, where the injured are said to be receiving treatment, say many others are in stable condition.
The police at Dominase are said to have commenced investigations into the matter.
