Strategic Communications Africa Ltd (Stratcomm Africa) emerged winner in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Campaign category at the 2017 prestigious PR News Platinum and Agency Elite awards.
The event was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York, USA and was attended by PR agencies from across the globe.
Esther A.N Cobbah, CEO of Stratcomm Africa and Kofi Baah-Boakye, Business Development Manager, received the award on behalf of Stratcomm Africa.
Stratcomm Africa’s innovative work on the Ghana Garden and Flower Show was adjudged the winner among the finalists in this category which included some of the world’s leading agencies and organisations such as Edelman, Dell Inc, PPR Worldwide and BWR, HP Inc, UPS, MSL GROUP and Cone Communications, First Energy Corp, PMK BNC, Cone and Wolfe, Bacardi-Martini.
Stratcomm Africa was awarded for innovativeness demonstrated in the development and management of the Ghana Garden and Flower Show (GGFS) as well as the organisation’s ability to grow the show so rapidly in a short space of time.
In an interview with PR news after the event, Ms Cobbah said “We are delighted to be receiving this award and grateful to PR News for the recognition. Stratcomm Africa remains committed to employing communication as a tool for national development and livelihood enhancement, particularly with regard to the issues of environmental conservation and poverty alleviation”.
“This award is a good fifth anniversary present for the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement and it is for all who have worked hard to bring the Movement and the Show this far”.
Among other award winning organisations and agencies in various categories this year were Deloitte, Phillips, United Nations Foundation, KFC, IBM, Edelman and FleishmanHillard.
