Twenty tricycle operators last night besieged the residence of Northern Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu to seek his intervention in an alleged police brutality.
The men said they suspect an agenda by the Regional police to frustrate them and their business.
They cited an incident where they claim four of their colleagues were detained far beyond the mandated 48 hours for minor infractions.
Secretary of the Tricycle Operators, Ibrahim Abdul Razak said the treatment they suffer at the hands of the police is unbearable.

He told Joy News’ Northern Regional Correspondent, Martina Bugri Monday, NPP’s promise in the heat of the 2016 general elections to protect their business has not been honoured.
The operators were unanimous they want an end to the harassment they suffer daily from police officers.
Martina reported Mr Naabu promised the operators he will go into the matter in the coming days.
