Officials in northeastern Mexico shared photos of some small fish they said fell from the sky during recent rains.
Civil Protection Tamaulipas posted a pair of photos to Facebook showing small fish that fell to earth during recent rain.
"Curious case in Tampico where there was a light rain that included small fish that literally fell from the sky," the Facebook post said.
Experts said fish falling during rainstorms is not unheard of and sometimes occurs when a waterspout, a tornado that forms over water, pulls the fish up into the clouds, where they are kept aloft by strong winds until they fall with precipitation.
