There must be something about the restoration of a 400 cedis monthly allowance which nurses alone can perhaps fully understand.
The restoration of the monthly allowance by the Akufo-Addo government after it was scrapped by the former government in 2014 has been received by the nurses with great joy.
The nursing trainee allowance became a hot political issue in the 2016 general elections with the nurses believed to have voted massively for the NPP, after the party promised to restore it.
The NPP fulfilled this promise last month and launched the restoration at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region. This student nurse could not help by join in the cultural dance at the launch.
Her dance is being called the 'Alawa Adowa'.

The Adowa is a popular dance that is widespread among the Akans and is performed during funerals and public social events.
