The make-up artiste of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Janet Darkwah says she is shocked by reports that the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo fondled and groped her breast at the office.
A video posted on the social network site, YouTube, suggesting that Nana Addo touched the make-up artiste a little above the waist has become the centre of controversy, as some condemned the act while others say it was nothing unusual from the NPP flagbearer.
Janet Dankwah refuted the allegation, adding Nana Akufo-Addo did not touch her when he and his entourage visited the station in 2008 ahead of a presidential debate in the run up to the 2008 general election.
On Wednesday 15th February 2012, the Daily Post newspaper published a story headlined Haba! Akufo-Addo again! Fondles and gropes with Make-up Artist of GBC’.
In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Thursday, Janet Dankwah described the publication as false, insisting that she was not fondled by the Nana Akuffo Addo.
The Make-up Artist maintained that, when Nana Akufo Addo entered the make-up room, she was not the only person in the office and wondered why people can publish such a story about her.
Janet Dankwah said she is a married woman with children and will not allow herself to be used as a love object by any individual apart from her husband.
The make-up artist, who hails from Juabeng in the Ashanti Region, said she was not affiliated to any political party and was discharging her duties as a public servant.
She refused to comment on how she feels about the footage being published on YouTube.com.
