Parliament on Tuesday read for the second time, the bill seeking to make the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) a fully-fledged state university.
The University of Professional Studies (UPS) bill was first laid before the House in 2011.
The Rector of the Institute, Professor Joshua Alabi, was commended by Members of the House for his role in the success story of the Institute.
The motion was pushed by the Deputy Minister of Education, Mahama Ayarigah and was unanimously seconded by both sides of the house.
