After staging what has been described as one of the best organized Kwahu Easter fiestas, organizers of the most patronized shows at the Kwahu Easter, Adom FM, are getting all the plaudits for a job well executed. The patrons are excited about the exceptional performances of the main headline act- Guru- for this year’s event that was highly publicized by Adom FM. Guru, who gave a good account of himself in his first performance on Adom FM Kwahu stage, made the pre-event hype manifest when he took over the stage in Kwahu. “I think I like the organization and structure of the shows, we are proud to be part of this festival,” a sponsor of the event revealed. This year’s event was expected to rise above the previous ones and it did, exceeding expectations despite the few technical challenges that led to late start of one of the shows. From an excellent lighting and sound, to a well-coordinated security plan and organization, Adom Fm proved their accolade as the official radio station for the Kwahu Easter 2012. Patrons of the festivities had the first bite of the package for this year’s event at Bunso Junction on Thursday as they danced to good music and enjoyed great performances from some ‘underground’ rappers and Azonto Dancers who showed great skills in the various competitions that won them prizes from sponsors of the event. On Good Friday, the Eastern Palace Bar at Atibie came alive with the ‘Akwaaba bash’ which featured highlife greats like A.B Crentsil, Dr. Paa Bobo and sensational Kofi Bee together with his good friend Kofi Nti. Attended by an overwhelming crowd- both young and old- the patrons were not perturbed by the late start as a result of a technical hitch. The show was preceded by popular T.V show, ‘Agrofie’ which is hosted by ace actor David Dontoh who gave out many prizes to winners of the show after they answered questions mainly on Easter. Patrons were thrilled with good highlife tunes including hits like Moses, Osobrokyie, Afia Donkor, Rakiya respectively from the main artistes. On Saturday night, the Adom fm team blocked the Obomeng High Street and brought movement to a halt as the crowd did everything possible to catch a glimpse of the great performances by the hiplife artistes, some climbed trees as others made do with the tall buildings around the venue. Performances on the night including that of E-Nice, Sydney, K.K Fosu, Akoo Nana, Kwaw Kese who dazzled the crowd with his magnificent entrance with the Abodam crew, set the tone for what would later become a grand showmanship from the Lapaz Toyota ‘driver’, Guru. DJ Mono and Ben Duker effortlessly kept the crowd excited all night giving them intermittent hit after hit sweepers till the show ended at around 5am. “This is the best concert I have seen for a very long time in Kwahu. I didn’t want them to close, I love Adom fm, they are too much,” said another patron. A special “Omotuo Sankwan” was held on Sunday morning for mostly patrons who travelled from Accra and other places to eat and drink their favourite Sunday dishes and drinks ranging from omotuo to Tuo Zaafi and others. It was sponsored by Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd and those who came to the Eastern Palace enjoyed the varieties of drinks on display by the sponsors. Finally, as part of their plan to say good bye to the travelers who patronized the Easter festivities, a special show dubbed, ‘Club on the park’ took place at the open park of Eastern Palace where patrons danced their hearts out as they were treated with tunes normally played in night clubs. The lighting and mixes made the park look like a club and there was no time for sitting as the MCs Jerry Justice, Kofi Asare Brako and Kusi Mensah Capito kept everybody on their feet. “I have not been to the club for a while now but I’m enjoying this one, we are enjoying the natural breeze whiles dancing, I think this is unprecedented” an excited young man said. This year’s Adom Fm Kwahu Easter was sponsored by Tigo, Royce Black Energy Drink, Bonvi-Blast Energy, Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd. Carex and Nunu Milk from PZ, Hinese Cider and Fiesta Condoms.
