The President, John Agyekum Kufuor has travelled to Canada.The President left Accra Friday night for a two-day visit to Ottawa, Canada, where he will engage in bilateral talks with the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper and the Governor-General, Michaelle Jean.According to a statement issued by the President’s Press Secretary, Mr. Andrew Awuni, the President would also meet with officials of ALCAN, the multi-national aluminium company which has proposed to build a bauxite refinery in Ghana to refine the mineral.The statement said, the President will continue to New York to participate in the 62nd General Assembly of the United Nations.The President is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on September 25, 2007.He is expected back home in Accra on Friday, September 28.
