Mr David Quaye Annang, Tema Municipal Chief Executive, has reiterated the call on companies operating in the municipality to live up to their social responsibilities by providing the people with basic infrastructure.
By so doing, he said, the companies would be helping to improve the standard of living in their areas of operation.
Mr Annang said this at a get-together organised by the Kpone Traditional Council to draw the curtain on this year's Homowo Festival of the chiefs and people of the Kpone Traditional Area.
He also repeated the call on the people to strive to remain united and reminded them that it was only in a united environment that government would invest.
Mr Annang said the 1.5-million dollar Community Upgrading Facility for Kpone and Ashaiman was on-going and on completion would provide most of the basic infrastructure needs of people in the two communities.
Nii Tetteh Otu 11, Paramount Chief of the Kpone Traditional Area, advised the people to use the occasion to put the past behind them and chart a new course to help speed up the area's development.
Among those present at the function was Mr Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, Member of Parliament for Kpone/Katamanso.Source: GNA
