The Most Reverend Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani has urged Christians to live in humility, obedience and love for one another, saying these were the virtues that made Jesus Christ and the saints.He made the call at the Christ the King Cathedral in Sunyani on Saturday at a special ceremony to mark the Golden Jubilee of Reverend Sister Maria Dolores Inkoom, second Ghanaian reverend sister, who served 33 years of her sisterhood at the Sunyani Diocese of the Catholic Church.Bishop Gyamfi said Christians like all other humans had their shortfalls and urged them to admit these challenges at all times saying to themselves, "Lord I am not worthy." and pray to God for forgiveness. He commended Reverend Sister Dolores for the great impact her work had had on the clergy, laity, young and old in the Church.The Bishop applauded Sister Dolores, popularly known as Sister ‘Dor’ for her simplicity, humility, industry, veracity, generosity, faith and trust in God.Sister Dor according to Bishop Gyamfi was very instrumental in the formation of the Catholic Women's Association, the Tarcisians, the youth wing of the Sacred Heart Confraternity, the Kete Group and Youth Choir (All Saints) at Christ the King Cathedral in the Diocese of Sunyani.Rev. Sister Dolores, a native of Ajumako Bisease in the Central Region, was born on October 22 1932. After her primary and middle school education, she went to Nigeria in 1953 to do her Postulancy and Novitiate and completed her course on 15th January 1957 as the second Ghanaian and the 46th Handmaid of Holy Child Jesus on December 1967.In July this year, President John Agyekum Kufuor, witnessed the special Papal Award Ceremony performed by the Apostolic Nuncio His Grace Most Reverend George Kocherry on behalf of Pope Benedict XVI to Rev Sister Dolores in recognition of her 50 years of active and dedicated service to the Church.Rev Sister Florence Badu, who also served for six years in the Diocese, took her second profession vow at the ceremony.Rev Sister Badu is currently a member of the Novitiate Community with the additional ministry as the procurator at Nsuatre in Brong Ahafo.Source: GNA
