The Moderator of the General Assembly of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right Reverend Dr. Yaw Frimpong-Manso has observed that it is only hard work and determination that would enable the nation to achieve development and prosperity.
He said as a people and as a nation, with determination, hard work and trust in God, "we can receive the blessings of God to achieve our national goals and become a prosperous Nation".
The Moderator said these in sermon he delivered at the elevation of Brakwa sub-District of the church to a full District status in the Central Presbytery at Breman Brakwa in the Central Region. The theme for ceremony was: "Rejoicing over one repentant sinner".
He urged the members of the church to know that as a new district they are expected to go out and win souls for Christ, adding, “that is why as a "Church we have all embarked on Evangelism".
"Although we deserve God’s anger, he is willing to forgive and restore us to Himself through Jesus Christ, our God who tenderly searches for sinners and no sinners is beyond his saving power".
The Moderator appealed to people who have not seen God to repent and seek the path of Christianity that leads to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the Saviour.Right Rev. Frempong-Manso said the whole of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana would expect the elevated church to make a positive impact in all spheres of its life, mission and evangelism and its financial commitments.
He, in this regard appealed to its leaders to find ways and means of raising funds from within and outside their congregations for the development of church infrastructure and for evangelism and social services.
Right Rev. Dr. Frimpong-Manso said the church is in the world and whatever affects it also affect Christians.
He therefore urged them to take the issues that affect the society seriously and deal with them in the word of God and in the power of the Holy Spirits.
“Let us deal with the problems of indiscipline, immorality resulting in HIV/AIDS, crime and other socio-economic issues confronting the district,” he said.
