A District Magistrate's Court at Agbozume in the Ketu District has remanded a farm labourer into Police custody for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl.
The plea of Atsu Avormawuta, 18, was not taken and he is to be brought before the court again on September 20, this year.
Mr Nicholas Hlordzi, Police Inspector told the court presided over by Mr Eric Fiamordzi that Avormawuta lives at Denu while the victim stays with the mother, a bread seller at Sikakope near Denu.
He said on August 4, this year, the victim's mother left her in the care of a neighbour and went out to sell bread.
Mr Hlordzi said the accused person who was working on a farm near the victim's home lured her to a corner in the house at about 1830 hours and defiled her.
He said the victim narrated her ordeal to the mother and the accused was arrested.
A medical report by the Ketu District Hospital indicated that the victim had been defiled.Source: GNA.
