Mr Joseph Akintola Amankwaa, an Abuakwa-based businessman, has appealed to traditional rulers to redouble their efforts in generating funds for the Otumfuo's Education Fund launched some years ago.
He suggested the erection of kiosks at various vantage points in their communities for the successful collection of monies to accomplish the aims and objectives of the fund launched by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene.
The fund is meant to support education in the country especially deprived communities in Ashanti.
Mr Amankwaa made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Abuakwa in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District on Tuesday.
He noted that the launch of the fund was a very laudable idea that must be given the necessary support.
He called on those soliciting for financial assistance for the fund to be honest and transparent in the discharge of their duties, adding that this would win the confidence of the people to contribute to the fund.
