The Fanteakwa Mutual Health Insurance Scheme will accept farm produce from farmers who cannot accord to pay cash as registration fee, Mr Michael Padi, the Public Relations Officer of the scheme has said. Mr Padi said this at a meeting organized jointly by the Government Accountability Improves Trust, (GAIT II) a non-governmental organization, and the special Services Sub-Committee of the Fanteakwa District Assembly at Mpaem at the weekend. He said the arrangement was to facilitate the registration and payment of premium for clients who could not afford cash payment. Mr Padi said the scheme would collect farm produce equivalent of 120,000 cedis from clients and sell them on their behalf. He urged people who had still not registered with the scheme to do so. Mr Padi said the scheme was now making progress as a result of intensive awareness creation in churches and at social gatherings and that over 40 percent of the district population had so far been registered.Source: GNA
