The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) on Tuesday presented a computer and accessories to the Planning Unit of Western Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) at Sekondi.
Mr Bruno Dery, Deputy Director of Monitoring and Evaluation Division of NDPC who made presentation said the computer was to assist the council to collate planning data from the districts.
The presentation was made at a day’s workshop organised by the NDPC for Metropolitan and District Budget and Planning Officers in the Region.
Mr Dery said the workshop was to evaluate district monitoring and evaluation plans and find solutions to challenges facing the budget and planning officers.
Mr Anthony Evans Amoah, Western Regional Minister, receiving the computer said there should be regular monitoring and evaluation of the national budget.
He asked the participants to formulate plans to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the budget in their areas to correct lapses.
Mr Amoah said in addition, they should monitor and evaluate the implementation of projects until their completion to prevent shoddy work.
He advised them to involve the people in the planning,implementation and evaluation of projects.Source: GNA
