A Wa Circuit Court on Tuesday remanded Raymond Zormal 25, a labourer in prison custody for allegedly defiling a seven-year old girl in her father's room.
He pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on September 26.
Police Inspector Stephen Frimpong prosecuting told the court presided over by Mr Anthony K. Amoah that during the evening of August 30, parents of the victim left her with a maid and attended church service.
He said the accused took advantage of their absence and lured the victim into one of the rooms under the pretext of preparing tea for her but defiled her.
The prosecution said after the act, the accused warned the victim not to mention her ordeal to anyone but her father detected changes in her walk the next day and questioned her after sometime she mentioned the accused.
Police Inspector Frimpong said the matter was reported to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit in Wa who issued her with a medical form for examination and after investigations accused was charged with the offence.
