Paa Kwesi Fabin couldn’t help but admit that Asante Kotoko lost to a better team after seeing his side outclassed 3-1 by Karela United in Ayiniase on Wednesday.
Goals from Imoro Ibrahim, Abdul Ishmael Ganiu and Maxwell Baako were enough to hand the Porcupine Warriors a successive defeat and extend Karela’s unbeaten home record to six games.
“I must give credit to Karela United. They played very well and they are a very good side,’’Fabin said at the post-match. “They really dominated in the second half and they scored one goal in the process. They could have scored more but for the brilliance of our goalkeeper [Felix Annan]. We thank God we lost by three goals to one.”
By virtue of the defeat, Kotoko have dropped to 10th with pressure mounting on Fabin. Their next game is against Bechem United and anything short of a win could cost the former U-17 boss his job.
