Amed Toure was thrilled to rise to the occasion and live up to his pre-match billing as ASEC Mimosas' match-winner against Aduana Stars.
The former Ghana Premier striker got the only goal as the newly crowned Ivorian champions picked full spoils at the expense of Aduana in the CAF Confederation Cup group A opener.
"I am very happy to have scored a goal today. The players were very tired because we had played a derby earlier in the week and the same players played, that's why our second half wasn't like the first half," Toure stated on Oyerepa FM.
He was, however, impressed with the Ghanaian champions side performance.
"I think Aduana also did well just that their strikers need to do more, they really need to up their game because they created a lot of chances which I didn't see why and how they squandered them.''
Aduana Stars will welcome Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca to the Dormaa Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in their next game.
But Aduana must now shift their attention to the league. They find themselves in the relegation zone with six games in hand.
