STATEMENT OF THE NATIONAL UNION OF GHANA STUDENTS (NUGS)
ON THE SUDDEN DEATH OF H.E. PRESIDENT PROFESSOR JOHN ATTA MILLS ON
TUESDAY, 24 JULY, 2012
Ghanaian Students Are Humbled By your Death His Excellency
The National Executive Officers of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) and the entire Ghanaian students both resident and outside this country are saddened by the news of the death of our father, and President, Professor John Evans Attah-Mills whose death was announced today.
We are sad because we have lost an incomparable treasure in the political history of our dear nation.
NUGS sympathizes with the immediate family of President Mills and the larger Ghanaians as a family on our huge lost.
The National Executive Officers of NUGS want to appeal to Ghanaians to use this occasion to reflect on our lost and use the opportunity to remember with profound memories the hope of our President for Ghana. It is an established fact that, he has good plans for our motherland and we have to show an unwavering support to His Excellence John Dramani Mahama who will be sworn in as the President of this Republic based on the dictates of the Supreme Constitution of Ghana.
NUGS wants to call on all students in this country and outside to observe some minute silence in any program they conduct in memory of our father and good President and to be peaceful in this time.
