The Centre for National Affairs was deeply saddened to hear about the
death of President John Atta- Mills. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family, and all the Ghanaian people at this difficult moment. It is regrettable to note that the nation has lost such a great gentleman as its head. Indeed, we were sincerely shocked. We wish to single out the media for commendation in the professional manner with which this very sensitive issue has been handled.Indeed, any unprofessional reportage in such circumstances could have easily
triggered governance crisis on the nation and its people. We therefore, whilst highlighting this great success, wish to implore
all media practitioners as partners in the deepening of good governance to continue to be critical of persons who are currently leading our dear nation. This, we believe will further enhance good governance to the benefit of our dear nation and its citizens. The centre supports the many calls made by a section of civil society groups to demand full disclosure on the circumstances surrounding the president’s untimely death. This we believe will offer very useful lessons to the country as it looks into a more secured and safer future.God bless our homeland Ghana.Signd
