The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has added a candle vigil to the celebration of this year's World Food Day, which falls on October 16.
The vigil would take place on October 22 to add to the creation of awareness of the theme: "The Right to Food - Make it Happen."
The vigil would involve the youth, religious and civil society organisations and be held at open spaces and in Ghana, the procession would start from the Old Polo grounds and end at Mantse Agbonaa at James Town, Accra.
According to the National Planning Committee of World Food Day schools invited to the candlelight procession are; Achimota School, Accra Academy, St. John's Grammar and Wesley Grammar and Labone Secondary.
Meanwhile, Amen Amen, a religious organisation, which combines the Muslim and Christian worship, donated GH¢1,000 (¢10 million) to the Planning Committee to support the day.
Mr Amen AmenReynolds Amen, founder of the leader of the religious organisation, presented the money to Ms Anna Nyamekye, Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture who is the Chairperson of the National Planning Committee.
