55-year old fowl thief clubbed to death

A 55- year old man who attempted to steal a hen from a coop died when the owner hit him with a stick in a brawl at Nuamakrom-Kokoado near Twifu Praso. Kwaku Ofei, said to have fathered four children, died instantly when Tsoakodzi Akpo struck him on the head. Twifu Praso Police tells Nhyira News preliminary investigation reveals Tsoakodzi was awoken by the cluck of the bird at about 11 pm last Wednesday. District Commander, DSP Nana Ofori, says the owner managed to get hold of the suspect who allegedly attempted to hit Tsoakodzi with a club. The fowl owner hit back in an apparent act of self-defence, resulting in Offei’s death. The hen at the center of the controversy accompanied the lifeless body of Ofei to the Twifu Praso District Hospital where the body awaits autopsy. Police have arrested Tsoakodzi on a provisional charge of manslaughter, pending investigations. Meanwhile, Nhyira News sources reveal the deceased; Ofei was an ex-convict.
