Proprietor of Garden of Eden International School, Yvonne Mensah-Adjei says the education system has failed to take into account the mental development of children in their early education career. She wants to see introduction of lessons and subjects that will help develop their ability to think and reason fast.Mrs. Mensah-Adjei for the past 20-years has been giving care to children in the United States. She is unhappy the education system in Ghana does little to help children who are generally suppressed in society to find their feet in school.Speaking at the 3rd anniversary of the school at Aputuogya near Kumasi, she proposed the introduction of music as a curricular activity at early stages and the use of modern teaching methods.According to her, there is an urgent need to inculcate modern method of learning into the education system. The Garden of Eden International School combines both American and Ghanaian teaching techniques with a state-of–the-art library complex and a well-furnished computer laboratory. It proud itself for being a model school in the country’s educational set up.
