The General overseer of the Light House Chapel International Dag-Heward Mills said the late president John Mills will be remembered as a “good and democratic president.”
He said John Mills was publicly noted for his pursuit of the Christian doctrine while still in public office, a situation he stated was not too common.
“I remembered him as a good president, a democratic president, someone who demonstrated that he was a Christian. Unlike some other people who are Christians [but] who don’t show and say they are Christians when they are in public office,” he told MultiTV shortly after he filed past the mortal remains of the late president which was laid in state.
He was a part of the clergy and other members of the public who paid their last respects to the former Commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
According to him, in his last interaction with the late President John Mills, he promised to make funds available in the next budget for Christians to embark on Pilgrimages to Jerusalem as is done to other religious groups in the country.
He was convinced the president will solely be missed.
