Tanzanian President, Jakaya Kikwete has said he wants to build stronger ties with Ghana’s new President John Dramani Mahama in the wake of the demise President John Evans Atta Mills.
Mr. Kikwetey was among a number of Heads of State who participated in Professor Mills’ final funeral rites at the Independence Square Friday.
He told Joy News’ Castle correspondent Seth Kwame Boateng that he enjoyed a strong relationship with Ghana’s late President but will want to see a further deepening of diplomatic ties with Ghana under its new leader.
According to him, both countries should try and build on the solid foundations laid by the late President stating, both countries happen to be in a good relationship with the United States because of their democratic values.
President Kikwete urged that, “Ghana and Tanzania will have to continue to share experiences so that we continue to do the good things,” to improve their lives of our citizens.
