The first-ever aero summer school for 3-12 year-old children, aimed at stimulating their interest in the aviation, has opened in Accra.
The event, organised by Kilo Alpha Aviation Holdings and its subsidiary Felvic Aviation Events Limited, is designed to grow the next generation of knowledgeable and intelligent aviation professionals to fill future airline jobs by training and stimulating their interest at a very tender age.
The four-week long summer school runs from July 30 to August 30, 2012.
“The curricula for the aero school aim at moulding and creating a fun-filled atmosphere of aviation career discovery through activities that utilise the kids’ natural pleasures and interests.
“ These activities will include aero puzzles, aero spelling, aviation cartoons, aviation history, aero videos, fitness, grooming, health and safety, among other,” Adubea Ayisi, Chief Executive Officer, Kilo Alpha Aviation Holdings said.
Kids enrolled by their parents become members of the FELVIC Aviation Winglets and FELVIC Aviation Wings Clubs.
The aviation industry is a tremendous wealth-generating industry, largely contributing to vibrant economies in most developed nations.
However, the wealth and numerous career opportunities in the aviation industry are largely unknown to the public especially the youth in the country.
“The result is that the career choices of our youth continue to be limited to only the ‘known & stereotyped’ careers to the exclusion of the aviation industry’s career diversity,” Madam Ayisi said.
