The chief of Nyamenle Kwame, a farming community near Tikobo Number One in the Jomoro District, has expressed his gratitude to the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Madam Samia Nkrumah, for providing them with a big multipurpose shed.
The Secretary to the Nyamenle Kwame Community, Mr Stephen Yankey, said the facility would serve as a market-waiting shed for passengers and a meeting place for the people.
He said the move by the MP was in response to an appeal made by the people when she visited them some months back, after the destruction of their shed.
Mr Yankey said the new shed was more convenient because it could accommodate more than 60 people at a meeting and thanked Madam Nkrumah for solving one of their major problems in the community.
He appealed to the district assembly and benevolent societies to assist them to build a school and said the absence of one had compelled children from the town to walk long distances to Tikobo Number One and Nuba to attend school.
