A woman and her two-and-half-year old son strapped at her back drowned when she fell from a bridge into a stream on her way home from the farm at the outskirts of Saviefe-Deme in the Ho Municipality.
Mr Joy Afagbedzi, Volta Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, said reports indicate that Peace Agbeme, 32, fell into the Sangba stream when she tried salvaging a bowl she was carrying on her head that dropped into the river.
Mr Afagbedzi said the body of mother and son had been deposited at the Peki Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.
