The capital of the Greater Accra region will soon be relocated to Dodowa.
The feasibility study on the proposed change of capital have been completed, the Greater Accra Regional Minister has said.
Speaking to Joy News on Friday October 5, 2007, Sheik I. C. Quaye said the relocation of the capital to Dodowa is part of the measures that government is taking to decongest Accra.
According to him, Accra’s population has increased over the years creating both human and vehicular traffic.
Sheik Quaye says the relocation of the capital to Dodowa is intended to attract business to the area and spread development.
