A Middle-aged woman on Sunday attacked Deputy Minister for Women and Children's Affairs, Hajia Hawawu Boya Gariba and ripped off her clothes in Tamale.
The woman whose name was only given as Kande, a banku seller, pounced on Madam Boya Gariba while she was fixing her hair in a salon.
The reasons for Kande's actions were not immediately known. The case has been reported to the police.
The Deputy Minister told Joy FM that Kande did not only rip off her clothes but also attacked her pregnant hairstylist.
According to the Deputy Minister, she did not have any security detail and was thus rendered vulnerable to the attack. She added that she was rescued by one of her 'boys.'
She said the incident caught the attention of a group of boys who for some inexplicable reasons, started hurling stones and other missiles at her.
According to the Deputy Minister, she later called the Police who came to her rescue.
